Cormac wrote a Requiem called Requiem Gloriosam after hearing the beautiful requiem of English Anglican Composer John Rutter. He felt however that as Christians who believe in the Resurrection that a Requiem should be less mournful and more hopeful of the promise of everlasting life. He wrote Requeim Gloriosam as a response. It was first performed at St Thomas’s on April 1 2012, the feast of Palm Sunday with the expanded Chorus of St Thomas and members of Knoxville Symphony with soloists, John Oyxedine, Chuck O’Donnell, Peggi Bastien, Madeline and Audrey Gibson and Fiona O’Duffy. The CD is a live recording made by Ben MacAmis of River Sound Productions in Maryville TN.
